So these will be the last scans of MY sketchbook but come back because I think a few others still have some good work to show off.
I'll be posting more at www.meldedrabbit.blogspot.com so come on by if you want to see more of my scribbling.
These are the dregs. They are pages that got left half finished or didn't ever gel together or it was an off day. But there's something on them that made me like them enough to scan.

Drive By
I sketched this page on a road trip to visit Antietam Battlefield. I played one of my favorite games where I sketch the folks that drive by. Those are the heads on the right. I only get a few seconds to see the person so the drawing is an interesting mix of memory and observation.
PS I do not look good in sunglasses. Never have. Never will.

Hmong Dabs
These are dabs. I was reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman which describes the Hmong people's belief in powerful spirits, dabs, which can injure or cause illness or protect and assist humans. While I was drawing, Aaron looked over and said what are you drawing? Are you okay? That looks crazy. Are you going to show that to other people? They might think you're crazy if they see that.
Anyway, I really like the dab's cat face on the right.

Your Interpretation?
Latecomer
I failed to post anything before the project went in the mail. But I will post here. Ex post facto posts, so to speak. Hope you enjoy. You may detect a theme.

Each Other
This is a sketch from life of a couple at my church that often fall asleep in each other's arms, in the middle of the sacrament meeting. They're both rather interesting individuals. Whenever I see either of them, I often find myself thinking how glad I am they found each other.
PS Sorry for the absence. The recent snow storm knocked our power out. We got it back today. I love you, electricity!

Paying the Piper
Aaron gets drawn a lot for a lot of reasons. He's good at getting stuck working for hours at a time which makes him stay in the same spot for a while. I like looking at him. And he lives with me. Here's a sketch I made of him working long into the night. If you are wondering, he's wearing a hood because our house is cold and because he thinks his hair is too long and needs to be cut.
A detail.
